What does good design mean to you?

Good design should be uniquely relevant to the individual; reflect their lifestyle and the architecture of their home.

What do you think makes a good interior designer?

A good listener and a determined creative vision.

What are the most important features when designing a space?

Good lighting and high ceilings help, but purchasing pieces for your home which make you smile will ensure it is always a happy home and space to spend time.

What is the one thing every home should have?

A drinks cabinet, particularly at the moment! I was fortunate enough to inherit a 1930’s veneered cabinet, lined with mirrors and full of fond childhood memories but we always specify a new drinks cabinet when one doesn’t arrive with the client. We recently specified a soft pink bespoke Bunny’s Bar which sits in the drawing room of renovated Victorian Villa home and the Pollock Drinks Cabinet for a Grade II Listed Queen Anne House… they work in any house! There are so many fabulous suppliers out there, combining them, knowing what to use from where and in what project is a hard task!

You make it easy for us! Clever curation of the range means you can never have too much Julian Chichester as the designs and finishes are diverse so can be used as one-off-pieces or layered.
